Bills’ Goodwin misses practice with head injury

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills receiver Marquise Goodwin did not practice because of a head injury, leaving his status uncertain to play at Houston on Sunday.

The Bills announced Thursday that Goodwin was going through the NFL’s concussion testing protocol, which he must pass before being cleared to play. It’s unclear when the injury happened, but Goodwin was limited in practice a day earlier because of an illness.

Buffalo (2-1) is already down backup receiver Marcus Easley, who was already ruled out after hurting his left leg blocking on a kickoff return in a loss to San Diego last weekend.

Starting left guard Chris Williams missed his second straight practice because of a sore back. Safety Da’Norris Searcy is expected to play after hurting his left ankle against the Chargers.

School bus emergency? Fairfax County students have a plan to handle it

This story is part of WTOP’s 2026 Back to School coverage. The wheels on the bus will soon be going round and round again in Fairfax County, Virginia, and some of its young riders are learning what to do if there’s an emergency on the way to school. The annual Safety Patrol Training Camp, hosted by Fairfax County Public Schools' Office of Transportation Services, combined hands-on exercises with classroom lessons to teach students how to keep calm during emergencies on buses. The training can feel remarkably realistic, with overturned school buses on their side or completely upside down in the middle of the county bus depot. Other buses, right side up, fill with smoke that is water-based but mimics the intensity of a bus overheating.
