Grains mostly higher, livestock lower

CHICAGO (AP) _ Grain futures were mostly higher in early trading Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade. Sept. corn was unchanged at $4.92 a bushel. Sept. wheat rose by 1.5 cents at $6.83 a bushel. Sept. oats rose by 1.5 cents at $3.24 a bushel. Sept. soybeans was down 1 cent at $12.15 a bushel.

Beef was lower and pork was lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Aug. live cattle was off 0.07 cent at $2.20 a pound. Aug. feeder cattle was off 0.15 cent at $3.33 a pound. Oct. hogs was off 0.05 cent at $.81 a pound.

Brazilian data protection regulator fines TikTok’s owner nearly $30 million over safety of minors

SAO PAULO (AP) — Brazil’s data protection regulator on Tuesday fined TikTok parent company ByteDance more than 153 million reais (nearly $30 million) because of alleged failures in the handling of personal data of children and teenagers. It's the South American nation’s latest move against social media companies. The regulatory body said in its ruling that TikTok breached data privacy laws across both logged-in accounts and guest browsing sessions through the collection and processing of young users’ personal information without a valid legal basis or adequate safeguards. The company can still appeal the decision in the next 10 days, Brazil’s regulatory body said. It didn't immediately comment about the Brazilian regulator’s ruling, which also includes an order for TikTok to eliminate all data that was gathered illegally.
