Asian-inspired food hall The Block comes to Pike & Rose

WASHINGTON — The restaurants just keep coming to North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose, with the latest edition serving up Asian Street Food.

The Block, an Annandale, Virginia, food hall will open an 8,500-square-foot location at Pike & Rose at 967 Rose Avenue in 2019.

The announcement said the Pike & Rose location will include communal tables and offer diners Asian street food, Taiwanese Snocream, Hawaiian poke bowls by Pokeworks and more.

Renderings of the build-out show a large, two-level space designed around a main floor bar.

This week, Nando’s Peri-Peri opened its newest D.C.-area location at Pike & Rose, joining a dozen other restaurants, both fast casual and formal at the development, with at least eight other restaurants coming soon.

Federal Realty Investment Trust’s Pike & Rose development also includes a Canopy Hotel by Hilton. Its Hilton’s second Canopy property — the other is at The Wharf. The development also includes several retailers, including L.L. Bean, REI, H&M and Bluemercury, an iPic movie theater and four apartment and condominium developments, as well as offices.

It also has a rooftop farm from D.C.-based Up Top Acres, which sells produce to Pike & Rose residents and office workers.
