Portrait of Netflix’s ‘President’ Underwood on view in D.C.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A portrait of President Francis J. Underwood is going on display at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington.

A painting of the fictional U.S. chief executive, as portrayed by Kevin Spacey in Netflix’s political drama “House of Cards,” is going on public display Wednesday and will be on view through October.

The Smithsonian said in a statement that the portrait is a joint project between British artist Jonathan Yeo and the Smithsonian museum.

In a move that the savvy Underwood would appreciate, the Washington unveiling was timed to the series’ fourth-season debut on March 4.
