Tires slashed on eight D.C. police cars

WASHINGTON — Police say the tires on eight of their vehicles were slashed sometime between 10 p.m. and midnight Friday.

The police cars were parked near the Seventh District Police Headquarters at 2455 Alabama Ave. Southeast. Hickman says one tire was slashed on each vehicle.

Hickman declined to say whether the cars were unmarked vehicles or marked cruisers displaying the police logo.

In Friday night’s attack, Hickman says he knows of no cars, other than the police cars, that had tires slashed. Police are investigating.

In February 2015, tires were slashed on about 30 cars on 9th Place, 11th Place, 12th Street and Congress Street Southeast.
