Bus almost crashes into building near Gallery Place Metro, injuries reported

WASHINGTON — H Street has reopened after a bus almost crashed into a building on the 600 block of the street. The crash occurred near Capital One Arena, formerly the Verizon Center.

Seven people were injured, according to D.C. Fire and EMS. It remains unclear if they were pedestrians on the sidewalk or passengers on the bus; no life-threatening injuries were reported.

H Street was closed between 6th and 7th streets for several hours.

This story has been updated to reflect that the bus did not crash into the building as previous reports stated.
