In Northwest DC, a house gets ready for its moving day

The house sits at 3219 Wisconsin Avenue NW … for now. — The five-bedroom, two-bathroom home — which has been sitting for generations at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Macomb Street Northwest — is moving.

The house sits on supports, ready for its moving day. — The Craftsman-style home was built in 1901 and has since been a cornerstone of the area.

The house and land on 3219 Wisconsin Avenue NW appears ready for moving day. — So it's being moved. But it isn’t moving far. It will be turned to face Macomb, instead of Wisconsin, then shifted down the road just a bit to fit in with other single-family homes already along the road.

The new tenant at that address. — A six-story multifamily housing complex will take over the lot after the home is moved.
