DC toddler was not hurt by gunshot

WASHINGTON — A 2-year-old boy who was rushed to the hospital after his parents said he was struck by a stray bullet, was not injured by gunshot after all, NBC Washington reported.

It happened in a residential neighborhood in the 1100 block of K Street Southeast on Sunday, Mother’s Day, around 4 p.m. D.C. police said the child was initially believed to have been shot, but they found that the boy had not been hurt by gunshot. The toddler’s life is not at risk, but information on the child’s injury has not been released. Police are still investigating the incident.
