2 shootings in Oxon Hill; 1 man killed

WASHINGTON — A man in Oxon Hill, Maryland, died Sunday in one of two shootings near the border between Maryland and D.C.

Prince George’s County police said they received a call shortly after 6 p.m. regarding a dispute between two people on Maury Avenue and Audrey Lane in Oxon Hill.

When they arrived on the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Just before 6 p.m. that evening, police said there was another shooting involving two men around the corner — less than two blocks away on Audrey Lane. The victim of that shooting was taken to the hospital with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.

Police said the two shootings are unrelated.

No word yet on what led to the either shooting. Police said they are still investigating.
