WASHINGTON — Visibility will be reduced early morning, as fog blankets the area Monday. The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for D.C. and its surrounding areas in Virginia and Maryland until 5 a.m.

Visibility will frequently be reduced to one quarter of a mile so slow down if you’re driving and avoid tailgating. The fog should clear but sunshine will break through gradually, Storm Team4 meteorologist Somara Theodore said. Tuesday may be the best day for sunshine and high temps because the forecast is looking soggy for the rest of the week, Theodore said. Here is the forecast for the next few days.
- Monday: Rain farther south. Gradually clearing and becoming sunny. Highs in the mid to upper 50s.
- Tuesday: Sunny and mild. Highs near 60.
- Wednesday: Increasing clouds. Highs in the low 60s.
- Thursday: Rain showers and overcast. Highs in the mid to upper 50s.
