16-year-old shot in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON — A 16-year-old boy was shot in Northeast D.C. Friday.

D.C. police say the teen was shot in the back in the 1900 block of 3rd St. NE around 4:10 p.m.

Emergency crews transported him to a hospital; he was conscious and alert, D.C. police said.

Officials have not released details about a suspect in the shooting.
