Police: Man charged in attempted sex assault in Georgetown

WASHINGTON — Police said they’ve arrested a man who punched a female in the face and tried to sexually assault her in Georgetown on Saturday.

The incident happened at around 2:45 a.m. in the 3300 block of N Street Northwest.

According to police, the female was walking on N Street when a man approached her and began punching her in the face. Police said the man then tried to sexually assault her.

Police said they’ve arrested Tejeda Hernandez-Chrispin, 22, of Northwest in connection to the incident. He was charged with assault and intent to commit first-degree sexual abuse.
