WASHINGOTN — A 67-year-old man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a man in D.C. on Saturday.

Wilbert Whitaker of Northeast has been charged with second degree murder while armed in connection to the death of Leo Hackett, 30, of Northeast.

Police said the shooting happened at around 10:45 a.m. Police responded to a call in the 800 block of 21st Street, Northeast, where they found Hackett suffering from a gunshot wounds.

Hackett was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

Police have not released any other details regarding the incident.
