Police: Man shot to death in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON — Police said a man was fatally shot Saturday in Washington, D.C.

Metropolitan police responded at around 11 p.m. and found 32-year-old Eric Anthony Jackson suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

A police tweet and an emailed news release  provided conflicting information on where the homicide occurred. A police spokesman told The Washington Post that Jackson was found near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Maple View Place Southeast.

Jackson, a D.C. resident,  was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
