US bans entry to Hungarian corruption suspects

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — The United States has issued entry bans to several Hungarians suspected of corruption, including people connected to the government.

U.S. Embassy charge d’affairs Andre Goodfriend said that “under 10” people are affected, though “the numbers could change.” The identities of those subject to the bans were not released.

On Friday, Goodfriend was summoned by the Hungarian Foreign Ministry for a meeting on the issue and he said he met Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto earlier this week to inform him about the bans and their background.

The Foreign Ministry said it asked the United States to hand over any information about suspected cases of corruption so they could be investigated.

Audiences can expect the storytelling and vocal power that have defined Ledisi’s concerts, but with a significant addition: the music of Dinah Washington, the legendary singer she honors on her recent tribute album, “For Dinah.” “What you will hear is a spiritual experience inside of the blues, inside of my music, inside of the relationship between my influence with ‘For Dinah,’” Ledisi said in an interview with WTOP.
