I-95 in Prince William Co. temporarily closed

The process of closing Interstate 95 near the Prince William Parkway is underway.

The Virginia Department of Transportation has said the highway will be closed for about a half hour Thursday morning.

The complete closure is needed for crews to pull a fiber optic cable across the highway.

The cable came down overnight.

You are being encouraged to avoid I-95.

WTOP Traffic at 11 a.m. said there are delays in both directions.

As Maryland schools reopen, drivers reminded to stop for school buses
