Thousands without power for more than 1 hour in Calvert County

Some 8,000 customers were in the dark for more than hour Tuesday night in Calvert County, Maryland.

Those in the dark were over 99% of BGE customers in the county.

Power was slowly restored after 10 p.m.

There’s were also more than 2,000 outages reported in Anne Arundel County.

BGE said a repair crew was on the way and the lights should return at around 10:45 p.m.

No reason has been give for the cause of the outage.

WTOP has reached out to BGE for comment.

Expect closures, delays near Suitland Parkway Interchange project

A new traffic pattern will be in effect Monday morning in connection with the large Maryland Route 4 and Suitland Parkway Interchange project. But drivers should avoid the area beginning Friday evening and through the weekend, according to the State Highway Administration.
