Swimmer identified in Howard County swimming accident

WASHINGTON — The search for a 19-year-old swimmer in the Triadelphia Reservoir ended Friday afternoon when divers found his body.

The 19-year-old man has been identified as Avery Troix Williams, who swam in the reservoir with a group before 6 p.m. Wednesday. Swimming in that reservoir is not allowed.

Montgomery County Police are investigating the death.

Rescuers and searchers from Charles County and NRP assisted and brought in an outside scanner/sonar.

The search started around 7 a.m. and the man’s body was found after 2 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
