Police arrest suspect in ice cream truck driver shooting

WASHINGTON —Police on Wednesday announced the arrested of a man wanted in connection with shooting an ice cream truck driver in Prince George’s County on the Fourth of July.

Around 5:50 p.m. on July Fourth, police found an ice cream truck driver with gunshot wounds in the 5100 block of Buchanan Street in Hyattsville. The victim survived his injuries.

The gunman, identified as 22-year-old Demetrice Littles, confronted the victim, robbed and then shot him, according to police.

Police arrested Littles, a Hyattsville resident, on July 28 when he was visiting his parole officer, the department said Wednesday.

Detectives are still searching for another suspect.
