Service restored on Metro’s Blue Line

WASHINGTON — Service has been restored on Metro’s Blue Line after earlier fire department activity.

Service was suspended Monday between King Street and Franconia because of fire department activity outside Van Dorn Street.

Metro tweeted about the fire activity first before 4 p.m. and announced the line suspension around 4:15 p.m. Service was restored at about 4:45 p.m.

Shutdown on part of Red Line, wait times on other lines this weekend

WASHINGTON — Major Metro track work disrupts all lines this weekend, including a shutdown on the Red Line and significantly longer scheduled waits than usual on all other lines. Red Line There are no Red Line trains Saturday or Sunday between Medical Center and Grosvenor-Strathmore. Metro will run shuttle buses.
