Some riders to wait longer for weekend trains

WASHINGTON (AP) — Some Metro riders will wait longer for trains this weekend as work takes place on the rail system.

Metro says beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through closing on Sunday, orange line trains will run every 24 minutes. Blue and yellow line trains will run every 20 minutes. Red line trains will run every 20 minutes. Additional red line trains will operate between Grosvenor and NoMa-Gallaudet from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, making the wait 10 minutes at those times.

Green line riders can expect regular weekend service except on Saturday at the Greenbelt Station only, where trains will arrive and depart every 24 minutes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
