BRISTOL, Va. (AP) — A closed private college in Bristol has been ordered to pay bills it owes for student housing and horse services.

Bristol General District Court ordered Virginia Intermont College to pay more than $3,100 owed to the Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority. The college had rented a building owned by the authority for student housing.

Washington County District Court ordered the college to pay more than $13,600 owed to two farriers who serviced horses for the liberal arts school’s equine studies program.

The Bristol Herald Courier (http://bit.ly/1pIaBLJ) reports that both courts awarded default judgments to the plaintiffs in May.

Virginia Intermont ceased operations in May. The college has said that it is working to resolve its debts.
