Magnitude 6.2 tremor near Mexico

GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 has been reported off the coast of Jalisco, Mexico.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the tremor was at 1154 GMT (5:54 a.m. EDT) Saturday. The epicenter was 303 kilometers (187 miles) southwest of Puerto Vallarta.

There were no immediate reports of damage. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the tremor did not generate a tsunami alert.
