Police recover body of Va. man who drowned trying to get fishing rod

WASHINGTON —Police have recovered the body of a Virginia boater who died while trying to retrieve a fishing rod from the Potomac River on Sunday.

The body of Bniamin Adel Rastkheez, 31, of Falls Church, was found near Piscataway Park in Charles County by Maryland Natural Resources police on Tuesday, ending an extensive search.

According to police, Rastkheez jumped into the water to retrieve the fishing rod but never came back up. Another man and a woman were in the boat when he went into the water.

Rastkheez was not wearing a life vest.

DNR police said that he drowned in the river.

5 more Md. residents contract swine flu from county fair pigs

WASHINGTON — Five more Maryland residents have contracted a strain of the swine flu after interacting with pigs at local county fairs. The Maryland Department of Health said Wednesday that five people contracted the influenza virus strain H3N2v, a variant of the swine flu in humans, by coming into contact with pigs at the Anne Arundel County Fair and the Great Frederick County Fair.
