Police looking for man after Woodbridge rape

WASHINGTON — The Prince William County Police Department is seeking information about a Woodbridge rape they say occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday near Keelingwood Circle.

A 34-year-old woman told police she fell asleep in her home and awoke to a man she didn’t know in her bedroom. Armed with a handgun, he raped her and left, a news release states.

While two children were home at the time, police say they weren’t hurt and there were no signs of forced entry.

Neighbors tell police a suspicious man was seen lingering in the area multiple times. A sketch of that man was released based on neighbor descriptions.

The rape suspect is described as a black man with an unshaven face, short black hair and a medium build. He wore jeans, a white T-shirt and a dark jacket. Police believe the man the neighbors saw and the suspect may be the same person.

Anyone with information should call Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700 or 1-866-411-TIPS.
