Senators sign F Max McCormick to contract

OTTAWA (AP) — The Ottawa Senators have signed Ohio State forward Max McCormick to a two-year entry-level contract.

McCormick recently completed his third season with the Buckeyes, scoring 11 goals and establishing new collegiate career highs in assists (24) and points (35) in 37 games.

Ottawa selected McCormick, of De Pere, Wisconsin, in the sixth round of the 2011 draft.

The Senators announced the deal Wednesday.
