Canadiens’ Carey Price skates before practice

BROSSARD, Quebec (AP) — Injured Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price took a light skate before the team’s optional practice Monday.

He has been out with a suspected right knee injury since the second period of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Price skated for about 20 minutes, without his goaltending equipment, well before the team’s optional practice. He is out for the rest of the series with the New York Rangers.

The Canadiens trail New York 3-1 in the best-of-seven conference final and will attempt to stave off elimination Tuesday night in Montreal.
