The Fairfax County Police Department is investigating a man’s death after officers found him lying in a road late Saturday.

Police responded to reports and arrived to the area of Backlick Road and Highland Street, when they discovered a 24-year-old man with an upper body injury.

NBC reports the man died after being taken to the hospital.

Investigators say the man’s injury may not have been caused from a vehicle.

Officials are withholding the victim’s name until relatives are notified and have not released further information.
