Loss of yardage: Price tag on ex-Redskins Chris Cooley’s Leesburg mansion

He’s a media type now, but many Washington Redskins fans remember Chris Cooley from his days as a Redskins tight end. You know him now as a popular sports radio analyst. He’s also a homeowner looking to sell. But at what price?

Real estate listing services have Cooley’s Leesburg mansion on the market — again — for a cool $2.39 million. But for Cooley, that’s a loss: Cooley bought it in 2007 for $2.9 million.

The 13,000-square-foot estate, at 17814 Running Colt Place, has plenty of bling, including a wine cellar, home theater, gourmet kitchen, swimming pool and huge soaking tub. And, of course, your run-of-the-mill six bedrooms and seven-plus bathrooms.

The home’s been on and off the market in 2012, 2013 and as recently as January, according to records. It was just relisted this week.

Cooley is now an analyst with WTEM-AM (ESPN Radio 980). The Washington Redskins blog said this week that Cooley is hard at work painting a mural inside 980’s studios at Redskins Park in Ashburn.
