D-backs minor league pitcher banned 50 games

NEW YORK (AP) — Arizona Diamondbacks minor league pitcher Argeny Hiciano has been suspended 50 games for a drug violation.

The commissioner’s office announced the penalty Friday under the minor league drug program.

Hiciano, a 17-year-old right-hander, tested positive for metabolites of Boldenone. He is on the roster of the Dominican Summer League Diamondbacks and his ban will start when the team’s season begins.

There have been 29 players suspended this year under the minor league drug program.
