Cardinals release RB Ryan Williams, 3 others

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have released former second-round draft pick Ryan Williams and three others.

Williams, who played at Virginia Tech, missed all of his rookie season with a knee injury in 2011 and the final 11 games of 2012 with an injured shoulder. Under new coach Bruce Arians, Williams was inactive for all 16 games last year.

In his three years with the Cardinals, he appeared in five games, three as a starter, gaining 164 yards in 58 attempts, an average of 2.8 yards per carry.

Arizona also released tight end Brett Brackett, center John Estes and linebacker Kenny Rowe.
