Pedestrian hit, killed in Fairfax County

WASHINGTON – A man is dead after a car struck him in Fairfax County Wednesday afternoon.

A vehicle hit a man near the intersection of Route 7 and Glen Carlyn Road in Baily’s Crossroads at about 3:40 p.m. The man died as a result of his injuries.

The driver involved stayed at the scene of the crash, says Beverly Jackson with Fairfax County police.

Police are investigating what led to the collision.

The investigation caused lane closures while police investigated and cleared the scene.

Super Pet Expo offers its first in-person event in Virginia since pandemic began

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
