New ramp will ease commute out of D.C.

WASHINGTON — Soon, it’ll be easier to take another route out of the District through a busy corridor.

Drivers leaving town from the busy H Street Corridor and the Navy Yard will be helped by a new ramp scheduled to open Tuesday afternoon.

The ramp is the next stage of the 11th Street Bridge Project and will allow traffic onto the outbound bridge from 8th Street Southeast. From there drivers will be able to go northbound or southbound on Interstate 295.

The District Department of Transportation says that the ramp should be open by 2 p.m. Tuesday.
