Water main break closes Falls Church road

WASHINGTON — A water main break caused a major road in Falls Church, Virginia to close early Wednesday morning.

The break occurred on East Broad Street (Va. 7) and North Washington Street (U.S. 29) early Wednesday morning.

The break blocks all lanes of Broad Street in Falls Church between U.S. 29/Washington Street and Cherry Street.

Eight homes are without water as a result of the break, according to a Fairfax Water spokesperson.

It is not yet clear when the road will reopen, but the spokesperson says crew will be on the scene through the rest of Wednesday.

Super Pet Expo offers its first in-person event in Virginia since pandemic began

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
