Warriors set NBA wins record with victory over Memphis

WASHINGTON — The Golden State Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies 125-104 Thursday morning in their final game of the season to set a new single-season NBA wins record with 73.

The Warriors needed to win each of their final four games of the year to break the previous mark of 72-10, set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.

Golden State won its penultimate game of the season Sunday night on the road in San Antonio, becoming the first team to beat the Spurs in their own building this season.

Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Warriors, was a player on the ’95-’96 Bulls team as well.
