WASHINGTON — The FBI is searching for a heavily bandaged man wanted in connection with nine bank robberies in Maryland in a six-month period.

Investigators say they believe the same man is responsible for the robberies around the state from October 2015 through April 1, 2016.

The man is described as a black man about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and around 160 pounds. More distinguishing is that during the robberies he wears eye glasses, a neck brace and bandages on his face.

In the robberies, the suspect approaches the counter and hands the bank employee a note announcing an armed robbery and demanding money, the FBI says. No one has been hurt during the robberies.

The banks the suspect targeted include:

• Oct. 19, 2015  — Capital One Bank, 402 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mount Airy, Maryland
• Nov. 3, 2015 — Susquehanna Bank, 6415 Ridge Rd, Eldersburg, Maryland
• Dec. 3, 2015 — PNC Bank, 11717 Old National Pike, New Market, Maryland
• Dec. 29, 2015 — Suntrust Bank, 3901 National Drive, Burtonsville, Maryland
• Dec. 30, 2015 — Harford County FCU, 3422 Emmorton Road, Abingdon, Maryland
• Jan. 15, 2016 — Sandy Spring Bank, 8315 Ice Crystal Drive, Laurel, Maryland
• Feb. 5, 2016 — Howard Bank, 10985 Johns Hopkins Road, Scaggsville, Maryland
• April 1, 2016 — Sandy Spring Bank, 3535 Spencerville Road, Burtonsville, Maryland
• April 1, 2016 — Capital One Bank, 6000 Marshalee Drive, Elkridge, Maryland
