Construction in Middleburg to reduce lanes on U.S. 50

WASHINGTON — Drivers who travel U.S. 50 through Middleburg will need to give themselves extra time during the next few months as a construction project will limit the number of lanes available to traffic.

Middleburg police say that the long-term project downtown will cause delays during both the morning and evening rush hours. Police warn driver trying to avoid the congestion that officers will be looking for speeders on side streets.

Both eastbound and westbound traffic will be controlled by the lights west of Plains Road, police say.
