Van destroyed by Molotov cocktail

WASHINGTON – Someone used a Molotov cocktail to set a Honda Odyssey van on fire in West Annandale early Friday, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department says.

Firefighters responded to the vehicle fire at 1:35 a.m. in the 9200 block of Ashmeade Drive.

The fire caused $8,000 in damage, and the fire department says the van was a complete loss.

A nearby garage also sustained damage.

Neighbors discovered the fire and called 911. No injuries occurred.

An investigation is underway.
