WASHINGTON – New Year’s Day is a federal holiday, and because of that some area transportation services are not operating or are on a modified schedule.

Metro and Metrobus are operating on a Sunday schedule.

Ride On and the Fairfax Connector are on a Sunday schedule.

There is no MARC or Virginia Railway Express service.

High Occupancy Vehicle restrictions are lifted across the area, with the exception of U.S. 50 in Maryland.
