Car crashes into CVS on Rockville Pike, closed for repairs

WASHINGTON – Police are investigating a collision that took place around 10 a.m. on Dec. 31, when a car crashed into the front of the CVS at 1580 Rockville Pike in Rockville, Md.

The Rockville Police Department reports the driver was attempting to park in a space, located directly in front of the store. However, the driver stepped on the gas, instead of the brake.

This action caused the car to drive over the curb and into the building, where it struck near the front entrance doors and deflected into another parked vehicle, police report.

The City of Rockville building inspector declared the structure uninhabitable until repairs are made to the front entrance. The CVS will remain closed until the repairs are made and the structure is safe.
