Carjacked SUV slams into Metrobus in D.C.

WASHINGTON – A person is in police custody after crashing a carjacked SUV into a Metrobus in Southwest D.C. Monday morning.

A carjacked SUV crashed into the bus near the intersection of Joliet Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue at about 9:30 a.m., according to ABC 7. The crash sent two people on the bus to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to a D.C. Fire Department spokesperson.

Officials have one person in custody, ABC 7 reports. They have not yet released information about the suspect’s identity.

No other injuries have been reported. Authorities have not yet released an estimated cost of damage to the Metrobus.
