‘SNL’ spoofs bogus sign language interpreter

WASHINGTON – “Saturday Night Live” took aim at the bogus sign language interpreter at last week’s Nelson Mandela memorial service in South Africa.

On SNL’s Dec. 15 episode, cast member Kenan Thompson played the fake signer moving around behind President Barack Obama, played by Jay Pharaoh.

“Without a doubt, we have seen huge improvements on our website,” says “Obama” about the healthcare website as the interpreter does his best “Spiderman” by shooting invisible webs from both hands.
