Man sought in Fairfax County break-in, sexual assault of woman, 51

WASHINGTON — Police are looking for a young man in his 20’s suspected of breaking into a Mount Vernon area home and sexually assaulting a 51-year-old woman before fleeing.

Fairfax County Police responded to a  home in the 8400 block of Blankenship Street at about 3 a.m. Saturday for the report of a burglary and assault. They said the woman  was awakened by an unknown male intruder. The suspect threatened and sexually assaulted her and then fled. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was described as Hispanic, about 25-years -old. He was wearing a black jacket and carried a black backpack. Patrol officers, a police helicopter, K9 unit and Major Crimes Detectives have been canvassing the area.

Super Pet Expo offers its first in-person event in Virginia since pandemic began

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
