Montgomery County Could Protest Washington Redskins Name — County Executive Isiah Leggett said he is considering asking the County Council to pass a resolution urging the football team to change its name. Leggett was prompted by an email from Bethesda resident Joshua Silver. Councilmembers said they’re not sure they want to use Council time on the matter. The team’s owner, Dan Snyder, lives in Potomac. The D.C. Council passed a resolution earlier this month urging the team to change its “racist and derogatory name.” [Washington Post]

Whitman Wins Girls 4A Soccer State Title — The Vikings, led by senior Anna Gurney, beat Catonsville on Saturday to win the state girls soccer title, 2-0. Whitman finished the season 16-1-1 and Gurney finished the season with 13 goals, including one in Saturday’s game. [The Gazette]

Glen Echo Holiday Art Show — The park’s Holiday Art Show & Sale will run from Friday, Nov. 29 to Jan. 5 in the Popcorn and Stone Tower Galleries and feature work from the park’s resident artists, instructors and invited artists.
