D.C. man saved when bullet stopped by wallet

WASHINGTON — A Northeast man was saved from injury on Sunday evening when a bullet hit the wallet and cellphone in his pocket instead of his stomach, the Washington Post reports.

Brian Harris, 45, told the Post he was on his porch around 8:30 p.m. at his home in Edgewood when at least one shot was fired. The bullet hit Harris’ phone and wallet which prevented him from being shot. The items were in Harris’ jacket pocket.

Police tell the Post they aren’t sure whether the man was targeted or if it was a stray bullet.
