Barn destroyed in fire at Md. country club

WASHINGTON — A maintenance barn was destroyed late Thursday in a fire at a Maryland country club. According to Pete Piringer with Montgomery County Fire & Rescue, the fire is now contained at the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, but crews will remain on the scene overnight. More than 75 firefighters responded to the scene along Rockville Pike around 11 p.m. for a fire in a maintenance barn. According to Piringer, no one was injured. Video taken by Piringer shows a large fire.

According to the country club’s website, it has played host to U.S. presidents and vice presidents, and other heads of state.
