GWU faculty member in critical condition after attack

WASHINGTON – A part-time instructor at George Washington University was attacked early Sunday morning.

ABC7 reports that Jason Chambers, 39, was in critical condition after the assault and that he suffered major head trauma.

Police say he was attacked about 4:20 a.m. Sunday near S Street NW and Connecticut Avenue. Police found him motionless and unable to communicate on the sidewalk, according to ABC7, and witnesses reportedly told police he had been assaulted by a man who fled the scene.

The station reports that Chambers works for the university’s Department of Exercise Science.
