1 dies in crash that closes Inner Loop

WASHINGTON – One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on the Beltway’s Inner Loop that closed the roadway in College Park, Md., Monday morning.

A Chrysler and a Mercedes collided and closed all lanes of the Inner Loop between I-95 and New Hampshire Avenue/Exit 28 at about 2:45 a.m., Maryland State Police say. The driver of the Chrysler died after the crash.

The driver of the Mercedes sustained injuries considered not life-threatening.

Officials have not yet released the victims’ names or information about what led to the collision.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
