WASHINGTON – A Gaithersburg man will be sentenced to 20 years in prison for trying to hire someone to kill his ex-wife.

Ndokey Peter Enow, 38, pleaded guilty Friday to solicitation of first degree murder.

Prosecutors say last June the IT professional with a Ph.D asked a police informant how to hire someone to kill his ex-wife, Aziniwi Glory Shu.

“There was an undercover police officer who posed as a potential hitman,” says Ramon Korionoff with the Montgomery County States Attorney’s office.

He says Enow took out a $300 deposit on the $1,000 he planned to pay the undercover officer for the hit.

In the tape of the exchange,  Enow can be heard telling the officer he wants his ex -wife in a wheelchair or “6-feet under.
The charge of solicitation of first degree murder carries a possible life sentence, but Korionoff says he’ll be sentenced next month to an agreed up on sentence of 20 years.
