WASHINGTON – A group of artificially bred panda cubs were put together on Monday, for the first time since their births in the city of Chengdu in southwest China’s Sichuan Provinces.

In 2013 20 panda cubs were born, with 17 of those cubs surviving.

The Chengdu Panda Base was founded in 1987 with six giant pandas rescued from the wild and today has increased their captive population to over 83 individuals.
